Tasty Food Photography Ebook

Now that you are ready to start your own food blog, here is a great Ebook on learning to style, bake and photography food for the website.  They also share tips on where to edit photos and a how to guide.

Hi guys!  Chances are if you are on viewing this page, it means you are interested in starting a food blog.  Food blogging is a lot of fun but it can be hard work, yet very rewarding.  I’m here to provide the basic steps needed to start a food blog or any blog for that matter.  Other blogs cover this topic frequently but it is nice to have options.  We will show you where to get started with food blogging online and will show you what you will need to photograph food.  The best advise I have is to stop thinking about it and start your blog as soon as possible.  If you have the passion and drive to do it, it will be rewarding!  It is important to note that having an awesome camera does not mean you will have the best food photos.  Simply have a better camera means that images will be sharper.  You will have more options to create the perfect image with a better quality camera than with an iphone or a point and shoot camera.  Learning to style food is important and because you are photographing it, you will be handling it a lot.  Being creative and introducing photography props is important.  This is best learned over time.  I’m always learning new things.  Check other food blogs for inspiration on how to style food with props.  Look for a section on this subject soon.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I will do what I can to help.

Growing Viewership:

Growing an audience can be a roller coaster.  All it takes is one or two really great posts that will carry your blog to the next level.  It is important to stay consistent.  Having new material is essential. Publishing posts 3-4 times a week can make a difference.  Just remember it is not the quantity but rather the quality of the posts that will attract and maintain viewership.

Social Media Advantages:  Using social media is key.  Having a user friendly website with plugins and widgets for Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, ect will grow your blog.  This material should be easy to share across social media.  All it takes is a key individual to share your work to their network and your blog will see an increase in visitors.  You should also post to these social media websites often.  Part of blogging is growing readership and relationships.  Create an account for your new blog and start sharing with the community.

Community Involvement Advantages:  The blogging community is such a great place to grow your viewership.  View other bloggers websites and comment often.  Let other people know you are out there.  It gets  your name out there.  It is also good to build relationships within the blogging community.  This takes time but be constant.  Comment on posts you love or have found the most helpful.  Fellow bloggers love great comments and they will notice when you create a great post!  Others love to read comments and will likely follow your link to your blog.

Link Party Advantages:  Get involved in Link Parties.  Link Parties are a great tool to use that allow you to link up you posts to a host blogger.  That host blogger is allowing you the opportunity to get noticed by their audience which is an awesome advantage to gain more viewers for your blog.  It is also a great way to get the blogging community involved with one another.  It’s a great way to meet other people and develop friendships.  Here is a website with numerous Link Parties that are happening and is always updated;  Also, Google “Blogger Link Parties” and look for more directories.

Studying Website Statistics:  Installing Google Analytic for your website is helpful.  It allows you to see what posts are the most popular, how often you come up in Google Search and for what.  It provided website statistics on how many views you are getting throughout the day.  This is most helpful when determining what time of day your viewers are tuning in.  It makes it much easier to produce new material for the website and to know how it will perform.  Also, watch the viewership grow when posting the material in social media websites.  It’s a great feature to have and if you use it correctly, you can learn how to maximize your blogging potential and grow.
