It’s a Southern favorite, beef burgers stuffed with pimento cheese and topped with fried green tomatoes.  Pimento cheese is a popular burger topping in the South, United States where folks call it “pâté of the South.”  You will find this burger when dining in the French Quarter, New Orleans next to a menu full of seafood.  The cheese gives so much flavor to the burger that you will not need other condiments such as ketchup.  Then place the burgers inside toasted buns and top with lettuce and green tomatoes.  It’s tradition to fire up the grill before Memorial Day weekend and socialize with family and friends.  In the South, we are able to do this most of the year.

This is a great burger recipe because it combines many of the flavors of the South.  It does not get more southern than slaw, pimento cheese and green tomatoes!
