Strawberry Peach Smoothie Bowl
It’s that time of year again where the weather is changing, our schedules are becoming full and we’re getting back to our routine. It’s one of my favorite seasons and not just for the weather, but for the food as well. While my days are busy and filled with work, yard chores and winterizing the house for the months ahead, I always look forward to making this 5 minute smoothie bowl to get the day started.
Saying goodbye to summer is never easy. When summer has lost its grip and that first crisp breeze is felt, fall is in the air. Welcoming September is a little easier knowing that I can take out my cozy sweaters, warm boots and seasonal scarves from storage to start wearing again. What’s even better is being able to enjoy some of the same summer food for months to come. Nothing breaks my morning routine of yogurt and granola, not even cold weather.
Perhaps what makes yogurt and granola special to me is that it’s versatile. I can think of at least a dozen variations of yogurt and granola recipes. From a variety of fruit, yogurt, nuts, granola and other add-in flavors, it’s my breakfast of choice.
To make the ultimate smoothie bowl, here are a few things to keep in mind. Start with frozen fruit. Mangos, berries, cherries, pineapple, melon and peaches are some of my favorites.
Next, blend in some protein like yogurt. My favorite is Wallaby Organic Greek Yogurt thanks to a variety of products & flavors available at Target. Stir in spices like cinnamon, nutmeg or natural sweeteners like honey or agave nectar, if needed.
Finally, top the smoothie bowl with freshly sliced fruit, and crunchy toppings like a variety of gluten free Van’s Simply Delicious Granola, chocolate and coconut.
To keep this recipe Non-GMO, organic and gluten-free, I’ve stocked up on Van’s Simply Delicious Granola and Wallaby Organic Greek Yogurt at Target. Now, you can save money on these items when you shop at Target.
