A light and refreshing, fresh berry and avocado salad tossed together with spinach, fresh mozzarella cheese balls, and a basil balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Serve as an appetizer, side dish or main meal.
It’s heating up outside and now is the time I find myself making more salad to satisfy my hunger. When it comes to summer salads, I want a big bowl of fresh vegetables and juicy fruit. What I love most is a delicious combination of sweet flavors with a little citrus and a lot of satisfying crunchy vegetables. Add some salted cheese and that is the winning flavor combination.
Because it’s already near triple digits here, I like to do my grocery shopping at most once a week and sometimes, every 10 days. Being a food blogger, I like to have a lot of extra produce around for recipe inspiration. But just like everyone else, I make salads for lunch, dinner and pretty much for everyday summer occasions.
In the past, it’s been no easy feat to the keep produce fresh for more than a few days but with Rubbermaid® Freshworks™ Produce Saver, it’s more than possible.
Perhaps the best part of this season is all the fresh produce in the grocery store and at food markets. Part of living a healthy lifestyle is having plenty of produce on hand to incorporate with meals. It’s hard to walk into a store and not stock up on a buy-one-get-one fruit sale. In the past, half of the food would go to waste because it couldn’t be finished before spoiling.
Rubbermaid® FreshWorks™ Produce Saver is a brand new food storage container that uses revolutionary FreshVent™ technology to keep produce fresher up to 80% longer (when compared to store packaging). The containers are BPA free and dishwasher safe which makes clean up that much easier. Product comes in three sizes including small ($9.99), Medium ($12.99) and Large ($15.99).
After nearly 6 days, these raspberries are as fresh as day one above. While fruit truly does stay fresh longer, it allows me to easily incorporate it into more salad options and smoothies for healthier living. Because it doesn’t spoil as quickly, I find myself reaching for fruit and vegetables more often.
Rubbermaid® Freshworks™ Produce Saver uses Revolutionary FreshVent™ Technology which is a patented membrane that naturally regulates the flow of O2 and CO2 to create the optimal environment to keep your produce nearly as fresh as the day it was picked.
That means that while traditional store packaging fails after a few days due to moisture issues, Rubbermaid® Freshworks™ Produce Saver works to evenly distribute and control the moisture level in the container that leads to longer lasting food. With produce lasting longer, those buy-one-get-one fruit sales will quickly become a weekly grocery shopping favorite.
With summer just weeks away, I’ve already been seeing juicy fruit pop up everywhere. I can never have enough fruit and vegetables this time of year. It’s incredibly refreshing to eat on a hot summer day.
What are some of your go to summer salads to living a more convenient healthy lifestyle?

Wow that product does sound pretty cool, especially being able to keep all that fresh produce going for so much longer. I hate waste more than anything and it’s such a disappointment when you reach into the fridge only to find a very sad looking punnet of strawberries. This recipe sounds gorgeous too, especially with the mozzarella! 🙂
Healthy, chocked full of strawberries and avocado, delicious. What’s not to like?
Strawberries, avo, and mozz should be the new caprese! Gorgeous and packed with such great flavor 🙂 Pinning!

Omg yum!!! What an amazing mix of flavors. Mozzarella balls make everything better IMHO. The dressing looks like it’ll be the perfect complement to the fruits and veggies. Sounds awesome — pinning for later!! 🙂
